Back in the Day .:Mar 19 09:.
Last weekend my Wife and I met a bunch of other friends in the Gaslamp for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. One of the couples used to jock that place, and since it reopened downtown, thought it would be a good idea to eat there. Much to their dismay, the wait was an outrageous 2.5 hours!!! Man I don't think I even waited that long to ride Space Mountain in the early 80s!!!
Before the hostess could hand us a pager, we said hell naw and quickly became Q7. I was never really impressed by that spot anyway. My coworker said she actually got seated the same night we tried-- but she had to wait in a line wrapped around the block for an hour! Forget that...
Oh yeah, I almost had a road rage episode while moving my car from the Horton parking garage to an outside spot. I was the 4th car coming out of the G st. exit, under Nordstrom and we all had green for a minute. Well this jerk and his lady were trying to cross in front of the traffic and I happened to be the car that cut them off before they could get to the other side. Dude yelled sarcastically to me "Oh yeah, go right ahead, buddy!" Now I used to work downtown so I am a huge advocate of pedestrian right of way--when appropriate. And if i was car #1 I would have happily let his ass cross. But this fool met me right in the middle of the traffic flow, thinking he was all entitled. So I just pointed hard at the Green light (index, NOT middle finger) without saying a word. I heard him mouthing off some more, but these days I just got to let that crap go. Cuz for real you don't know what kind of crazy ish peeps will do. And I sure as hell don't want my child to be a b*stard!
The next day, my Wife still had a hankering for some Spaghetti with meat sauce, so we hit up Filippi's in Little Italy which had zero wait time and great food! Price wasn't too bad, but I wish they still had 1950s prices like in the menu above...
In case you were planning to hit up OSF, you should be aware that they don't take reservations.

NEWJACK HUSTLESOU NDCHECK .:Mar 19 09:.
So I met Chikara Manga of Tres Records and was able to pickup some wax
for the Fresh Crate site. One piece I picked up was NEWJACK HUSTLE
(NEWman on the Beats Shawn JACKson on the raps) I've heard some buzz
on Shawn Jackson and heard some of his stuff. When I first heard the
album I had no idea it was Shawn Jackson. In any event its probably my
favorite Shawn Jackson work. Newman's beats are dope also. My
favorite tracks are Ronald, Last Newport, Suprise and Saturday Night.
Each track is pretty dope but those are my preliminary selections.
Werd up to Chikara at Tres. Check out www.tresrecords.com for more info on the LP, the LP will be available some time next month at www.freshcrate.com. Also look out for some sample tracks on the Fresh Crate Music Samplers on the www.homegrownblends.com podcasts. BTW yo thanks Gav for the Eurolite Case you can see the record lying on it. Yo Kdeezy, Chikara said wuts up also.
