My First Mixer .:Mar 10 09:.
I was on ebay the other day got bored and got nostalgic. I looked to see if I could find my first mixer and sure enough there it was.
Back in the day the only place you get a mixer that I knew of was at Radio Shack, the flea market or at the beat shop. Needless to say this mixer was pretty wack with no crossfader. Realistic did have a mixer with a crossfader. I found that one too on ebay:

This one was twice as much as the cheap one I had. We didn't have much money back then so all we could afford was the cheap one. DJs these days are spoiled. I had my cheap Realistic mixer in 1988 over 20 years ago.

Monday Jazz .:Mar 10 09:.
About a year and a half ago, I got this email from a guy name Paulius
from Monday Jazz, asking if I'd be interested in making a mix for their
site. They're based out of Vilnius, Lithuania. I guess they got a
hold of one of my mix CD's somehow. Anyway...I was happy to oblige,
and they actually have a bunch of great mixes up on their site. Check
them out at mondayjazz.com.
A
link to my mix is down below, as well as their most recent one from my
boy Nerstylist out of Union City. The third one is from one of HGB's
favorite beatsmiths, Joe Beats. Click to listen; right click and "save link as" to download.

Kutiman: Kutting It .:Mar 09 09:.

Peep this
link. http://thru-you.com/
Kutiman engineers a bunch of unrelated youtube videos
together to compile 7 tracks. They're all fresh, but 7 is
probably my favorite. You can easily follow the original
samples that were used in these videos.
Such a sick concept, simple, creative, turning a
media site into a canvas. I'm sure we'll start seeing more of
these.
Kutiman is a one-man show from
Isreal who usually brings his friends to improve his sound.
It's a fusion of afrobeat, funk, heavy psych, reggae, rnb, and general
groove. His album seems timeless and fits many moods. Below
are some tracks from his album.
